“Christmas is coming and the tills are getting fat Please put a penny in the storekeeper’s hat If you haven’t got a penny A credit card will do If you haven’t got a credit card Then what you gonna do”? Could this be a new 21st century shopping mantra or a “Bah! Humbug!” Scrooge-like criticism of the modern approach to Christmas?
